Woodpecker Sculpture

Woody Woodpecker. 

You usually hear their hammering on the trees before you spot them.

There's two ways I've had encounters with Woodpeckers.

The first is when you hear that tapping noise and then wander around aimlessly gawping up at the trees.

The second is the silent surprise - a completely random encounter that neither of you were expecting.

Either way, it's always a treat to spot one. I briefly caught this one on camera through my kitchen window.
