Sunflowers
There's something about a field of sunflowers that you can't help but love. All those bright cheery yellow faces as far as the eye can see.

So when I read there was a sunflower field not far from me I couldn't wait to take the camera to go and find it. A short walk around Scout Dike Reservoir and there they were! The blue sky above with floating clouds just added to the happy vision.

Do sunflowers follow the sun?
Seeing all these little yellow faces got me wondering whether they follow the sun. Well it turns out that they do!
Like little sun worshippers!
But apparently it's only when they're young and growing. When they're mature they stop following the sun and just face eastwards to attract pollinators. So if you're ever lost in a field of sunflowers, now you know how to navigate!
