Garden Birds
It's turning Autumnal. The birds in the garden have pretty much all grown up and lost their baby feathers and the Robins are starting to sing again to mark their territory.
While I've been working in the studio I've had my camera by my side - trying my best not to get clay on it and failing miserably. But I've been treated to some wonderful visitors this week so I think it's been worth it.
First up are the squadron of Long Tailed Tits. Ok, so apparently the collective term for them is a "Volery" or indeed a "Zephyr." Not a squadron, a floof or a squee. I make no apologies for how cute they are.

Next up is a beautiful Yellowhammer. I've been lucky to have these as regular visitors to the garden and have seen a breeding pair and their offspring too. The first time I saw one I thought someone's Canary had escaped!

I've been blessed with many Blue Tits again this Summer, and this is one of this year's youngsters.

The Sparrow mafia (again, not the proper terminology!) have been out in force again this year. There's been two broods I'm sure that have been nesting in the fascias at the front of the house as they do every year.
They make such a noise when they're all chattering away in the bushes, and of course it's a favourite fast food stop-off for the beautiful Sparrowhawks that swoop in, or occasionally rest a while on the tree in the middle of the garden. Stunning birds with piercing eyes striking plumage. Always a treat to see them.

Robin made a brief appearance too.

And of course it wouldn't be a normal day without a Woodie (Wood Pigeon). This one loves to spend their time in the bath, fluffing up and relaxing.
