Chris Packham and Shelby Grant

Little Foxy's been spotted with Chris Packham again, and this time he's made a new friend!

This week I woke up to a mention on Instagram - little Foxy has been out and about again with Chris Packham, only this time he was being gifted to the talented young photographer Shelby Grant by Chris and the amazing organisation "Protect The Wild."

Shelby is a talented young wildlife photographer and had been sharing his journey through videos which he was sharing online. One of those videos would prove to be heartbreaking. This compassionate young man was devastated by the shooting dead of the fox he had been so passionately following.

His raw, heartfelt reaction hit so many of us wildlife lovers, but of course the internet threw vile comments at him too. A sad state of the world we live in.

But Shelby has proven to be a shining example of what compassionate youngsters can do - people came together to support him and speak up for the wildlife he loves. He is the future of conservation and was invited by Chris to join them on set for the filming of Springwatch.

When I heard the story I wanted to send him one of my foxes, but after spending ages looking for an address I gave it up and realised because of his age it was probably a safeguarding thing.

So blow me down when I later got tagged in the photo posted by Protect The Wild who had gifted him one of the foxes after all at the request of Chris Packham. Talk about the universe working in weird and wonderful ways!

Here was the first time Foxy met Chris Packham, which ended up being a fundraiser for Protect The Wild last year.
