Bempton Cliffs

This Saturday saw me returning to RSPB Bempton Cliffs to put on another puffin making workshop which was great fun and everyone left with their little pottery Puffins.

Afterwards I set up my stall with lots of seabird ceramic goodies on sale.

It was a scorching day and even the sea breeze was struggling to take the edge off the heat - much like the birds on the cliffs.

The centre closed, most visitors went home and I grabbed my camera and longest lens to go and see if I could spot some fluffy chicks on the cliffs. I wasn’t disappointed, but they were all being sheltered from the heat by their parents so weren’t easy to spot.

On the way back to the car I couldn’t believe my lucky encounter with a stunning Barn Owl, who, oblivious to the amazed onlookers carried on hunting for their tea.

I was even treated to a beautiful hare on my drive home. What a fantastic day! I’m very much looking forward to the next one!
